I love decorating with yarn. Last Christmas I showed how to make simple yarn balls, and gave you a pattern for knitted ornaments. This year I decided to try a string ball. The process is quite simple but can be messy, so make sure you cover your work surface with plastic. The supplies are modge podge (or other decoupage glue sealer), balloons, and yarn. I chose ivory cotton yarn. Cut yarn into 3 to 4 foot lengths. Blow up balloons to desired size; not more than 6 inch diameter. Dip the cut yarn into modge podge, then wrap around balloon in a crisscross fashion. Hang to dry overnight, then pop and remove the ballon. I think some small white balls would look lovely on the Xmas tree, or a bowl full of colorful balls. This is truly an enjoyable afternoon project. Give it a try!
